GRAND PALAIS TAUREAUMACHINE_edited.jpg

I try to achieve a harmonious blend of both classical and modern art in my work, while striking a balance that is natural yet distinctly surreal. My creations, mostly with animals as subject matter, can be regarded as symbolist-surrealist in their expression while traces of the Baroque style found in my
sculptures hint at my Italian heritage. I attempt not only to show the beauty of physical form, but also to reveal a deeper sense of the subjects I sculpt. The result is an allegorical representation of my subjects' inner spirits, be they animal or otherwise, employing fundamental techniques of light, space and even time.

1 - The Bronze

Before being cast in bronze, I do a great deal of research and make originals in plaster, iron and
wax. It is important for me to understand the subjects' origins, their lives and their anatomies and to
understand the subjects' representations in cultural reality through symbols and interpretation.
